“High Touch-High Tech” Palliative TeleCare during COVID-19
As a result of COVID-19, Palliative Care programs are being forced to shift care delivery models. Telecare services enabled TRU to meet patient needs and provide additional services to the community. The techniques and approaches that were developed during this process will allow programs of all sizes to begin providing “High Touch-High Tech” telecare services. Tools like the patient technology survey, staff telecare education, and patient utilization guides were instrumental in telecare being successful. Results to date show increasing patient, staff, and community satisfaction with TRU telecare. TRU’s telecare program is achieving positive patient outcomes in times of great change.
This poster will show learners how to:
- Identify patients who will benefit from telecare services
- Develop successful telecare training for staff
- Identify opportunities for using telecare to provide patient care
