The program is designed for working professionals and will require 6-8 hours a week of reading and assignments.
No. The class is set up in an asynchronous format, meaning it’s available when you are. Participants will be given assignments for each module with deadlines. The work can be completed on the participant’s own time as long as deadlines are met.
No. This is a cohorted program and is structured so participants will move through the material as a group. All work must be completed by the deadline in order to receive a certificate.

No. The program is a pass/fail program. Upon completion of the program each participant will receive a certificate of completion from the Institute that includes the number of Continuing Education Hours awarded.
This program will be offered on an annual basis. To receive notification of the program dates, please sign up for our priority interest list.
No. Priority Interest List members will receive notification of registration availability before the registration is posted online for the general public. There are limited seats in each cohort and seats are reserved on a first-come-first served basis.
This online program has been developed specifically for the CSU Institute for Palliative Care by experts in nationally recognized palliative care and hospice nursing experts as well as specialists in fields including oncology, cardiology, nutrition, interdisciplinary practice, complementary and alternative therapies, chaplaincy, and more. The faculty includes a DNP, Clinical Nurse Specialist, a Nurse Educator, and content expert guest lecturers currently working in palliative care who understand the challenges you face and are committed to your success.
The course is limited to 15 participants.
Yes. The program is specifically designed for participants to be interactive online learning not only from the faculty but also from their fellow participants. Many of the assignments require discussion with other students and/or faculty. Most people are pleasantly surprised at how much can be gained from the interaction with peers through our programs.

No. This program is the first of its kind to be 100% online. Asynchronous simply means you can study, dialogue with fellow students, and review videos or complete other assignment content on your own schedule. This gives you the flexibility to keep doing a good job at work and successfully keep up with your coursework.
No. However the program is designed for those who have the goal and intention of working in palliative care. If you are currently working in palliative care now you will find the material immediately applicable to your typical workday.
