Free 42-Page eBook For Spiritual Care Providers

The new year means new opportunity. Get this free eBook to enhance your career in any aspect of spirituality and palliative care. The content of this eBook has been created by HCCN in conjunction with leading experts in spirituality. On September 30th, the California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF) made available a new free guide focused on helping organizations interested in building community based palliative care in California.

In 2013, CHCF launched the Palliative Care Action Community (PCAC) to bring to light collaboration taking place among organizations with the common goal of strengthening and expanding their Community Based Palliative Care (CBPC) services. This approach presented a promising opportunity to expand the awareness and delivery of palliative care in new ways.  This guide was the result of the PCAC process and share what was learned in their research to uncover best practices and signals some of the challenges that lie ahead with Community Based Palliative Care services.

The CSU Shiley Institute for Palliative Care is mentioned in this report and it includes links to relevant courses in palliative care being offered by the Institute.  The new Excellence in Interprofessional Palliative Care Documentation self-paced course was funded by CHCF as a direct result of their work with the PCAC.

This is an important and very useful resource for all Californians involved in palliative care … in fact, it’s helpful for anyone across the country interested in strategies, models and lessons learned about community based palliative care.
