Palliative Care Communities
Our Story
CSU Shiley Haynes Institute for Palliative Care annually hosts the National Symposium for Academic Palliative Care Education and Research, which brings together professionals dedicated to advancing palliative care. Despite the connections and collaborations fostered during the symposium, attendees often struggle to maintain these connections once the event concludes due to the absence of a convenient system or platform for maintaining ongoing communication.
In response to this challenge, the Institute is establishing a new initiative: the Palliative Care Communities (PCC) via Microsoft Teams. While this initiative was inspired by the desire to continue connections forged at the Symposium, PCC extends beyond this initial purpose. The goal of PCC is to serve as a platform for making connections, sharing best practices, and collaborating on research endeavors for all within the realm of palliative care.
The Institute is currently offering five communities (with potential for future expansion) each catering to the unique needs and interests of different disciplines in palliative care.
