2018 San Diego Professionals Scholarships Announced

SAN DIEGO — In honor of National Hospice and Palliative Care Month in November, $25,000 in scholarships are being offered to San Diego County healthcare professionals seeking high-quality, online training in palliative care.

The Donald and Darlene Marcos Shiley Scholarships are available through the California State University Institute of Palliative Care to cover the full cost of tuition in any of the Institute’s courses.

These self-paced and instructor-led courses provide valuable continuing education (CE) hours for nurses, social workers, chaplains and other healthcare professionals caring for patients and families experiencing serious illness.

Applications are available now. The deadline to apply is midnight Nov 8.

Palliative care is a patient-centered, whole-person approach to healthcare that helps people with serious or life-limiting illness live well, from diagnosis until death.
